A solid 14K yellow Gold Round Cross Medallionwith navy blue hot enamel enhancement, granulation around the edge and a turquoise cabochon in the center.
The face of the pendant is an elegantly ornate rendition of theByzantine acronym, in Greek, of the words"Jesus" (IησουC)and "Christ" (ΧριστοC) and the Greek word "Victorious" (ΝΙΚΑ).
On the backis an embossed depiction ofEmperorConstantine the Great (311-337 AD) who became Saint Constantine alongside his mother Saint Helen (who discovered The Holy Cross).
In Greek this is called a Κωνσταντινατο(Konstantinato) because it's design was inspired by a 24K gold coin first issued by Emperor Constantine, the first Christian Roman Emperor. For more than a 1,000 years that coin was the "dollar of Europe", accepted everywhere on the Continent as currency.
